The Bacchae

The classic Euripedes play of Dionysis and his adoring Bacchae ladies who sing, dance and revel in helping him revenge the death of his mother, Semele.
Performed at New York University and Warsaw, Poland.
Directed by Kevin Khulke, as translated by Paul Schmidt
Music by Cynthia Hopkins

Mankynde

A post-modern musical based on the medieval morality play of the same name wherein Mercy, Mischief and ‘the vice squad’ (a boy band representing the vices) fight over the fate of Mankynde, who is ironically played by a woman. There were no actual dancers in the show bringing up the challenge of staging numbers to look like the pop acts they are referencing with a devout sense of humor in tact. The Vice Squad hit single “GET REAL” was staged as if Monty Python gave birth to 3 new kids on the block.
Directed by Louis Scheeder
Music and Lyrics by Nancy Magarill
Book and Lyrics by Julie Crosby
