Spectacle

Suspended Cirque (2011)

POON Productions was invited to do dance at the Boston Center for the Arts annual fund raiser with the fantabulous aerial theatre troupe Suspended Cirque. We were a part of their show Untamed.

TERRE (2009)

A dance-driven music spectacle performed in a nightclub setting, TERRE is “Blade Runner” meets “So You Think You Can Dance” with each number physically out doing the last. TERRE which means earth in french, explores the sensual power of women and the seductive influence that the feminine form has over just about everything.   Each dance begins with a common myth about women, whether it be bitch, seductress, diva, whore. Throughout the dance, the costume transforms to reveal a hidden silhouette, and the myth gets busted.  The audience witnesses a transformation from myth to fact and voila, we arrive at a more profound and beautiful reality.

POON (2006-2011)

Pieces of the original show POON have been performed at a wide variety of locations, events and parties throughout NYC. We have performed at Club Luxx, Galapagos, The Living Room, Sine, Webster Hall, Bar Sputnik, Alvin Ailey Dance Center, and for corporate events, extravagant birthday celebrations, fundraisers and private parties at Capitale, The Gramercy Park Hotel, The Nokia Theatre and CieloNyc. While we were entertaining the city’s elite, I began turning the original POON concert choreography into three sophisticated evening length spectacles; TERRE, PINK LADY and BEHIND THE RED DOOR.

Pink Lady

PINK LADY is a theatrical time machine, a portal into the golden age of Jazz and booze and Paris circa 1920. We integrate the present-day audience into this vintage escapade by dazzling them with a stage show they would have seen at The Folies Bergere, at the same time surrounding them with the characters’ behind the scenes shenanigans that take place throughout the venue. While the plot envelopes and surprises, the dances are nostalgic, traditional, dazzling, sensual and adult.

Behind The Red Door

BEHIND THE RED DOOR spectacle, driven by world pop music and an amalgamation of exotic dance, is a window into the sensual world of earthly delights and heavenly pleasures where the women dance like Salome and the men don’t mind. By combining many styles of Eastern dance and music with american popular culture, we become the exotic version of Disney’s “It’s a Small World”. Our light hearted yet sensual look at fetishes, domination and menage a trois will tickle your bottom or convince you to join or the party. Either way, you’re in for a delicious ride!
